Throughut my time as an Australian based developer I have realised the avarage business owner needs more.
Definitely more than just a website- they need a system – whether it be automation of their invoice process, connecting their marketing funnel or anything else- I got you covered. What you need is for things to be tailor made.
API integration is basically the way in which we connect anything to anything else in the software world-
for you, it could mean connecting your funnel system to your website, so whoever clicks “contact me” will be fed straight away to your marketing funnel and will never miss out on your business offers again, or it could mean connecting your finance system to your shop and making sure every sell is being recorded without buying expensive third party products, trust me, most business owners in Australia don’t realise how much they need it.
Automation is the easiest to explain, even if not the easiest to do- you want things happening now, without having to dictate everything, dear lord, that’s why you are the Boss. why having all of this not important information not happening by itself?
well, it can.
whether it be duplicates of invoices falling into your Google drive, invoices sent by mail to your clients, event pages in your websites creating themselves after you created them on your funnel system- let’s think easy, let’s think automated.
You are not stuck with the person who built your first website, right?
Why should you be stuck with their choice of framework? I believe websites should be fully migrateable- do you prefer Shopify, because of its Shop friendlieness but you are stuck with wordpress? why? the data is out there- let me put it in a place you are happy with.
Not everyone’s needs are the same- within the website, using the already built in capabilities of the CMS is just not it- you need a person who can tailor made pieces of the website to fit your needs- say you need to be compliance with government demands for your website, you cant have client’s data on the website, say.
you need someone who can work within those boundaries, even if it is as small as not liking a widget pre-coded by the CMS, you need someone there who can outdo whatever wordpress/wix/anything- allows them to do.
Outside of the CMS, you also need someone on your side- maybe building a custom made plugin that fit your needs specifically, creats dashboards in which you can follow the automation within all your softwares taking place, or just making a software in order to migrate automatically any of your websites and data instead of copy-pasting it all.
Truth is- you don’t need to remember any of those terms, what you need is a person you can trust with your problem, that will sit with you and decide what plan of action is the best.
